3 Arrested for DUI After Sun God Festival at UCSD

The Sun God Festival at UC San Diego draws thousands of students for live music and festivities.

The San Diego Sheriff's Department and the AVOID DUI Task Force conducted 114 traffic stops, 21 field sobriety stops and made three DUI arrests, cited one unlicensed drive, recovered one stolen vehicle and issued three other citations following the annual Sun God Festival on UC San Diego's campus Friday night.

Law enforcement conducted these checks from 6 p.m., May 18 until 2 a.m., May 19. 

The purpose of the DUI saturation patrol was to make the roadways in San Diego County safer by removing drivers who are impaired, according to the San Diego Sheriff's Department.
