Update on Symbolic Motor Car Burglary; Watches Stolen, Not Cars

The burglary took place at 2:15 a.m., Monday in La Jolla.

Burglars who broke into Symbolic Motor Car Co. in La Jolla early Monday did not ride off in luxury cars, but they did reportedly take something of value—watches.

The thieves stole four watches valued between $20,000 and $60,000 apiece, according to the San Diego U-T.

Owner Marc Chase told the paper that it appears that the thieves used a crowbar or baseball bat to break in and broke into a glass case containing four Breitling for Bentley watches. The watches were reportedly on consignment.
