Lifeguards Busy with Cliff Rescues Friday

San Diego lifeguards assisted five individuals in three cliff rescues on Friday.

San Diego lifeguards were busy Friday with numerous cliff rescues in La Jolla. 

The first incident involved a 12-year-old boy that fell from the cliffs onto the beach near Cuvier and Coast Walk. A spokesman for the San Diego Lifeguard Services said lifeguards placed the boy onto a stretcher, carried him up to street level and had him transported off to a local hospital.

There were two separate cliff rescues over too. The first involved three individuals, one of which was a UC San Diego students. Lifeguard Services said the trio went down a false trail and needed assistance to come back up. The three were uninjured.

The third rescue near the involved one male adult. He suffered minor injuries after falling eight to 10 feet, according to lifeguards. Lifeguards were still executing his rescue at 3:15 p.m. Friday.
