Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute raised more than $2 million for biomedical research at its annual gala on Saturday. The gala, themed “On the Track to Discovery,” was held Nov. 2 at the Del Mar Country Club.
"Under the leadership of honorary co-chairs Roberta Burnham, Pauline Foster, and Madeleine Pickens, the gala featured the merriment and inspirational spirit of the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing, and it celebrated the lives of two Institute luminaries, Board leader Duane Roth and co-founder Lillian Fishman," said Kate Callen, a communications specialist with Sanford-Burnham, on Friday afternoon.
