Doctors 'Cautiously Optimistic' on Health of CONNECT CEO After Accident

Duane Roth is being treated for a head injury.

On Thursday, CONNECT issued an update on CEO Duane Roth's condition after a serious bicycle accident on Sunday. Roth sustained a head and was admitted to a UC San Diego hospital. He was reportedly in an medically induced coma on Monday.

CONNECT issued the following statement:

CONNECT and the family of Duane Roth thanks everyone for the continuing support during Duane's recovery. Duane is under excellent care at UC San Diego where the medical team is "cautiously optimistic." Ted Roth will continue to provide updates; but in the meantime, the Roth family asks for their privacy. Cards can be sent to the CONNECT office and will be delivered to the Roth family regularly. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested we instead consider making a donation to Pedal the Cause or The Otterson Legacy Fund. These are both causes Duane is passionate about, and a donation would be a meaningful way to honor him. Again, our sincere thanks go out to you all during this challenging time.

Connect reported that "to ensure that Connect has strong leadership support during Duane's recovery" the executive committee met Monday afternoon to appoint Tyler Orion, past Connect COO, as interim president.
