Water Main Ruptures In La Jolla Leaving Some Without Service

The break occurred early Saturday in the 7100 block of Country Club Drive near Mimulus Way.

An eight-inch concrete water main ruptured in La Jolla today, leaving a few area homes and businesses without running water, according to city officials.

City crews were dispatched to begin repairs on the broken pipe in the 7100 block of Country Club Drive near Mimulus Way about 4:30 a.m., according to the San Diego Public Utilities Department.

Authorities closed the 7100 block of Country Club Drive while crews were making repairs, Arian Collins, spokesman for the city Public Utilities Department, said.
