Carly Gutner-Davis is a native San Diegan who attends Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. As a rising sophomore, Carly is pursuing a double major with English and International Global Studies and a minor in Journalism. Carly is hoping to find her place in the world of journalism and is excited to start by working as a freelance writer for Patch.
A graduate of Canyon Crest Academy, Carly was a four-year head business manager and staff writer for Pulse
Magazine, her high school’s 100% student-run, national-award-winning news magazine. At college, she is part of the Justice Newspaper Sports staff, where she enjoys writing about her beloved baseball team, the Boston Red Sox, amongst other things.
As a competitive student-athlete, Carly enjoys playing for
the Brandeis Women’s Volleyball team and has had the honor of playing on three international European volleyball tours prior to attending college. She is a worldly traveler and enjoys photography alongside writing, reading, skiing, swimming, playing beach volleyball, and wiggling her toes in the sand.
