Southwest Fisheries Science Center

The Southwest Fisheries Science Center (SWFSC), a branch of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, conducts studies and leads conservation efforts for living marine resources at home and abroad.  The center conducts economic, oceanographic, and biological research on marine animals and their environment to better understand marine ecosystems and fishery concerns. The center has several divisions, including a protected-resources division and an Antarctic ecosystem research division.
