Shark Summer, Make Your Own Book and Flicks on the Bricks

Shark Summer

  • Shark week isn't over at the Birch Aquarium. Shark Summer will include shark encounter talks, snorkeling with leopard sharks, Elasmobeach exhibit and more. Daily activities are available and prices may vary per activity. Shark summer will run until Saturday, Aug. 24. 
Make Your Own Book
  • Are you the next Dr. Seuss? La Jolla Library and San Diego Book Arts will host a free class in bookmaking. Learn how to make your own book at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at the La Jolla/Riford Branch Library. 
Flicks on the Bricks
  • Athenaeum Music & Arts Library will host Flicks on the Bricks with special movie screening of the film Cinema Paradiso paired with a glass of vino italiano. Tickets are $17 for members and $22 for nonmembers. Event is for 21 and older. The movie will start at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15 at the Athenaeum's Outdoor Patio.
Shore Thing
  • Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego La Jolla will host Shore Thing on Thursdays in August with extended hours and summer activities. Grab a slice of pizza from Pizza Pazza food truck. Admission is free on Thursday, Aug. 15, as part of the Museum’s Free Third Thursday Evenings. 
Haute La Jolla Nights
  • Summer nights are heating up in La Jolla. Haute La Jolla Nights will feature live music, shopping, art, dining deals and more. The free event will be in the La Jolla Village from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17.
