Here are five can't-miss events in La Jolla for the week of Oct. 7.

This collaboration between MCASD and the La Jolla Historical Society is said to examine the historical evolution of the buildings at 700 and 780 Prospect Street. Both buildings share an association with the Scripps family. MCASD was Ellen Browning Scripps’s residence and Wisteria Cottage belonged to her half-sister, Eliza Virginia. This exhibit is on display through Jan. 12, 2014. It opened on Sept. 21. For hours and admission prices, visit MCASD online.

2. Head to the library in La Jolla to enjoy a Mystery Science Theater 3000! viewing of Time of the Apes on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The library is located at 7555 Draper Ave.

3. Head over to The Comedy Store in La Jolla for some laughs with Rick Ingraham, who is a regular at the Hollywood Comedy Store. He will perform four shows: Friday and Saturday at 8 and 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online. For an R rated preview, watch a clip of Ingraham.
