A Community Focused Holiday

La Jolla Patch is looking for opportunities for our readers to help their neighbors this holiday season.

What is on your wish list for Christmas this year? A Red Ryder BB gun? Maybe you asked for a shiny new bicycle or even a shiny new diamond. Whether you were naughty or nice, it is easy to forget that the holidays are not about receiving. This time of year should be focused on family, community and generosity of the heart.

Patch is looking for families and nonprofits looking for assistance this time of year. Sometimes a full meal and  a new coat is all our neighbors need to make the holidays merry.

If you are a business supporting a nonprofit this holiday season, let us know. If you are collecting presents for Toys for Tots, if your family is gathering to volunteer at a food bank or even adopting a fish at the , send us a message.

Patch is dedicated to matching up volunteers with volunteer opportunities. Use our volunteer tab on the top of the page to post requests for volunteers. Or if you have some extra time and are willing to put in work without a monetary reward, let us know. The reward will be heartfelt thanks and the eternal gratitude of your neighbors.
