Golfer Tiger Woods committed to playing in the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course Jan. 21-27.
On Wednesday Tiger Woods joined more than 140 other golfers committed to playing the 2013 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines this month.
Officials told Patch last week that they were expecting Woods to join the stellar lineup including Brandt Snedeker, Bubba Watson and local Phil Mickelson.
The 72-hole event with a purse of $6.1 million will bring many of the world's best golfers to the bluffs above Black's Beach in La Jolla.
Woods took home the trophy at the then-Buick Invitational in 1999, 2003 and from 2005-08. His U.S. Open win here in June 2008 gave him a streak of five championships in five tries at Torrey Pines. He has played here just once since then, finishing in a tie for 44th in the 2011 Farmers. It was the only time he has failed to crack the top 10 in 13 tournaments at Torrey dating back to 1998.
