Phil Mickelson Plays 'One of the Best Rounds ... Ever' to Win First British Open

Mickelson said he was playing "some of the best golf of my life."

Native San Diegan Phil Mickelson birdied four of the last six holes to win his first British Open on Sunday in an "epic finish."

"I'm playing some of the best golf of my life," Mickelson told Tom Rinaldi of ESPN, according to the Huffington Post. "Today was one of the best rounds I've ever played."

Mickelson was 5-under par for the final round, and 3-under for the British Open, a notable conclusion for the player with a six second-place finishes at the U.S. Open behind him, according to the report.
