Pacific Coast Men’s Doubles Championship Swings Into La Jolla

Collegiate tennis teams from all over will play in the second oldest tennis event in the U.S. this month in La Jolla.

More than 11 college tennis teams from all over the country will head to La Jolla to compete in one of five oldest tennis events in the world.

The 124th annual Pacific Coast Men’s Doubles Championship will host a tennis tournament for athletes and competitors from NCAA college teams and local universities.

Colleges teams include Pepperdine University, Stanford University to San Diego State University, UC San Diego University of San Diego.

The tournament first took place at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club in 1942 and first launched in 1890 at The Hotel Del Monte in Monterey, according to the tournament. 

Pacific Coast Men’s Doubles Championship will start on Thursday, Feb. 28 and run until Sunday, March 3.

Spectators are able attend tennis matches for free and parking is $10 per day.
