NBA All-Star Chris Paul Playing Ball at UCSD

Los Angeles Clipper Chris Paul is hosting a basketball camp for nearly 300 boys and girls at UC San Diego this week.

The Chris Paul Basketball Camp tipped off this morning at UC San Diego's RIMAC Arena with nearly 300 campers. Point guard Chris Paul, a two-time Olympic gold medal winner and six-time NBA All-Star, welcomed the young basketball athletes Monday morning to camp and stressed the importance of teamwork, self discipline, self-confidence and having fun with the game. The camp runs through Thursday.

In his first morning address, Paul spoke about his coaches, training and career. He even allowed campers to ask him questions during his morning address. They asked his age and who he wanted to win the 2013 NBA Championship—turns out neither team.

Camp will focus on the basic fundamentals and advanced techniques for shooting, ball handling, passing, rebounding and defense. Participants are 7 to 17 years old.

Paul, 28, is in San Diego with his wife and two kids. He will host a second camp in Winston, N.C. in August.
