The selection of fast-paced songs as well as the energy that radiates from hot new beats is crucial when it comes to evaluating and raising workout class participants’ energy level and individuals’ enthusiasm and drive.
After consulting some of La Jolla’s top trainers, spin class and Zumba instructors, and other workout gurus, we’ve pieced together a hot summer playlist to get you pumped up.
Ray Wetterlund III, one of La Jolla’s top personal trainers, shared his five favorite summer 2012 songs: Eye of The Tiger by Survivor, Sexy and I Know It by LMFAO, Bring Em Out by T.I., Ready to Go by Republica, and Stronger by Kanye West.
Corey Spangler, the co-founder and lead spin instructor at in Bird Rock, uses these high-energy tracks to crank up the heat and intensity in his spin classes: Can't Stop Me (Tiesto Remix) by Afrojack & Shermanology, The Night Out (Maison & Dragen Remix) by Martin Solveig, Wide Awake (Dyro Club Mix) by Katy Perry, Dani California (Manic Focus Remix) by Manic Focus, and Reasons Featuring Andrew Allen (Original Mix) by Project 46.
Armone Sullivan, the founder and master Pilates instructor at , considered these five beats to be crucial in leading successful workout classes: Work Hard, Play Hard by Wiz Khalifa, Fire Starter by Prodigy, Where Have You Been? by Rihanna, The Presets by Girl and the Seaby, and Power by Kanye West.
