Get Zen in the New Year: 5 Yoga Studios To Try in La Jolla

Getting your mind and body off to a refreshing start for the new year

Getting in shape after the holidays is a popular New Year’s resolution. Most of us start off with a bang – running, going to the gym, cutting down on carbs - but after a few weeks, we tend to loose steam. One way to refresh yourself is to incorporate yoga into your routine.

Yoga traditionally helps you unify your mind, body and spirit. But yoga will also strengthen your body, and result in a healthier you. Today there are so many different branches of yoga, from the early Indian approach of Ashtanga, to the Bikram sequential ritual, and to the hybrid Yogalates; everyone can find a form of yoga that will suit their needs.

La Jolla is home to a large number of yoga studios; alas, Patch Picks can list just a handful. Wherever you start, try different styles, teachers, studios (many offer new student specials), and eventually you will find a place where you will feel comfortable and accomplish your mind, body and spiritual goals. Namaste.
