Last Day to Bet on the Ponies

Take out that over sized hat one more time. There is still time to bet on the horses at Del Mar. The seven-week season closes Wednesday with a big party including horse racing, food tastings and music.

Party in the paddock after the last race Wednesday evening. Neil Diamond cover band Super Diamond will play a free concert. Food and beverage will be available for purchase. The concert starts immediately after the last race.

The Del Mar Village Association is hosting The Final Course on Wednesday too. Tickets to the event are $25 and include admission to the racetrack, a program, table seating in the trackside Seaside Tropical Cabana at the top of the stretch, tastes from Del Mar's 18 restaurants, and admission to see and hear Super Diamond perform. Participating restaurants include Bully's North, En Fuego Cantina & Grill, Il Fornaio, Jake's Del Mar, Pacifica Del Mar, PrepKitchen Del Mar and Sbicca. The tastings run from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Purchase tickets here.
