La Jolla Native's Commercial Could Air During Super Bowl

For a second year in a row, Tyler Dixon created one of the top five commercials in the annual competition that could win him a $1 million.

Update 6:57 p.m., Feb. 5: Dixon's ad had not yet run on NBC.

Tyler Dixon, a La Jolla native and 1994 graduate of , may have a commercial air during the Super Bowl on NBC.

Last month, Doritos announced that Dixon's ad, titled Dog Park, was one of five finalists in the Doritos and Pepsi MAX Crash the Super Bowl contest. Dixon was a finalist last year with a on network TV.

Dixon was scheduled to attend the big game in Indianpolis where he waited to see if his ad would air to football fans and eager commercial consumers.

Dixon already won $25,000 and a trip to Indianapolis. In addition, if Dog Park nabs one of the top three Super Bowl commercial spots in the USA TODAY Ad Meter rankings, he will receive a bonus of $400,000 to $1,000,000.
