La Jolla High Falls to Mission Bay 27-14

MB's 20-point first quarter too much for Vikings, who finish the regular season with a 3-7 mark.

La Jolla High couldn't overcome Mission Bay's 20-point first quarter Thursday night, falling to Buccaneers 27-14 in the final regular-season game for the Vikings, who posted a 3-7 record.

Chris Byrd scored three touchdowns for MB, including a 95-yard kickoff return to help the Bucs off to their quick start.

Kenneth Martey rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries for the Vikings, who also scored on Josh Kilmer's fumble return. Quarterback Bobby Schuman hit on eight of 12 passes for 78 yards.
