In the next 10 days, La Jolla Patch will bring you 10 great gift finds from La Jolla shops and artists. Look for this column at 3 p.m. daily through Dec. 22.
San Diego is a golfer’s paradise, and La Jolla residents need look no further than for their holiday shopping.
President Susan Casagranda said items with the Torrey Pines logo on it are bestsellers and make great gifts for Dad. “Golfers love to sport a T-shirt or sweater with the Torrey Pines logo on it.”
For a really extravagant present, shoppers can purchase a chance for their loved ones to play alongside the pros in the Farmers Insurance Open. Spots are still available for the Sycuan Pro-Am on Monday Jan. 23. Golfers will play alongside PGA Tour professionals, such as Chris Kirk and D.A. Points. Tickets cost $2,700 and include: tournament entry, one practice round, admission to the awards ceremony, a TaylorMade golf bag and R11 wedge, and more.
The Zurich Pro-Am on Wednesday Jan. 25 costs $6,500 and includes entry into the tournament’s premier event, two practice rounds, admission to the Pairing Party, a TaylorMade gift package with various combinations (including a new driver), multiple Taste of San Diego passes, and more. Golfers will play alongside one of the PGA Tour’s top 100 money winners on either the North or South Course. According to the website, this package is “guaranteed to make you feel like one of the pros.”
But even Casagranda acknowledges a spot in the Pro-Am would be “over the top.” For the golfer on a budget, the pro shop offers less expensive options, such as hats or a $3 sleeve of balls, which make fun stocking stuffers.
