Girls Basketball: LJCD Advances to Regional Final

Kelsey Plum's 34 points equal the total given up to St. Anthony of Long Beach in a 77-34 victory.

Top-seeded La Jolla Country Day (27-4) advanced to the Southern California Division IV Regional final with a 77-34 victory over St. Anthony of Long Beach at the Torreys' gym Saturday night.

Sophomore guard Kelsey Plum equaled the St. Anthony total by herself, pouring in 34 points, 23 of those in the second half. Maya Hood added 21 points and 10 rebounds.

Defensing state champion La Jolla Country Day now will play second-seeded Los Angeles Windward (28-4) for the right to play the Northern California champion for the 2010-11 state title. The SoCal championship game is Saturday at 5 p.m. at Colony High School in Ontario.
