Raising Healthy Athletes - A Parent Workshop + Self-Defense/Street-Awareness Class for the Kids. 2 sessions!

While Parents learn how to fuel their young athletes for success,  the Kids will be mastering self-defense and street awareness. Both at the same time and location!

Sunday, March 25th, 2012
11:00 -12:30pm for Parents with Kids ages 8-12
1:00 - 2:30pm for Parents with Kids ages 13-18

For the Parents in Classroom 1:

Discover what foods will fuel your young athletes! Learn the roles of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats in athletics! Eat before, after, or in between? Learn to time meals for optimal performance! Different sports require different fuel. Find out why!

Every child is an athlete. Whether they are in school, swimming in a pool, or playing on a field, fuel your child with the right foods at the right times and you will fuel your child for success; athletic success, academic success, and social success.

Taught by Paula Ryan MS, RD, a local registered dietitian

For the Kids in Classroom 2:

Master basic stretching, kicking, blocking, and punching techniques. Become aware of your surroundings through street-awareness and role playing. Discover non-violent strategies to staying safe! Avoid conflicts and dangerous situations. Build self-confidence and self-esteem!

Empower your young athletes to thrive in sports, school, and life with the right fuel at the right times!
Empower your children with the skills and knowledge they need to avoid trouble and to stay safe!
