Entry Deadline for USTA National Senior Women's Hard Court Tennis Championship Is Sunday

National Tennis Tournament will be played May 12-18 at La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club.

The entry deadline for the upcoming United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Senior Women’s Hard Court Tennis Championships is scheduled for Sunday, April 27, 2014.
    
The national senior women’s tennis championships, which attract the best players from across the United States, will take place Monday, May 12 through Sunday, May 18 at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, 2000 Spindrift Drive, La Jolla, Calif. 
    
The tournament will feature singles and doubles events in the 50 and over, 60 and over, 70 and over, 80 and over, and 90 and over age groups.
    
“We are going to see a fantastic week of senior tennis with a field of competitors that is expected to be the strongest in the country in each age division,” said Tournament Director Bill Kellogg. “We even have one competitor, Helene Salvetat, traveling from Hossegor, France to play in the 90 and over division.”

The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club’s 42nd Annual Spring Senior Championships for men will be played concurrently with the women’s events. Although the men’s events are not national championships, they will feature many senior players who regularly compete in national tournaments. 

The men’s events will include singles and doubles for 60 and over, 65 and over, 70 and over, 75 and over, 80 and over, and 85 and over age groups. Total participation for both the men’s and women’s tournaments is expected to be 300-plus players.

La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club welcomes tennis enthusiasts to view the tournament with free admission. On-site parking is available for a nominal fee.

Women
Monday: 50, 60 Singles / Doubles and 70 Singles
Tuesday: 80, 90 Singles and 70 Doubles
Wednesday: 80, 90 Doubles
Men
Monday:  70 Singles
Tuesday:  65 Singles / 70 Doubles
Wednesday:  60 Singles / 65 Doubles
Thursday: 75, 80, 85 Singles/75 Doubles
Friday: 60 Doubles

The starting times for each day of the tournament will be as follows: Monday, May 12 – 9 a.m.; Tuesday, May 13 through Friday, May 16 – 8 a.m.; Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18 – 9 a.m.
