Dominique Love scored three touchdowns and Jake Seau added a pair as The Bishop's School improved to 3-0 on the season Friday night with a 49-20 victory over Village Christian of Sun Valley at the La Jolla High field.
The Knights built a 35-7 halftime lead and coasted to the win. Zack Wood opened the scoring for Bishop's with a 15-yard TD run, and Seau (6 yards) and Love (43 yards) ran in scores to make it 21-7 after one quarter.
Quarterback Joey Moreno hit Love on scoring strikes of 14 and 39 yards, and Seau later dashed 58 yards for a touchdown. Bulla Graft also had a 1-yard TD run for the Knights, who next play at Sage Hill in Newport Beach on Saturday, Oct. 1.
St. Augustine 34, La Jolla 0
La Jolla High was down just 13-0 to a strong St. Augustine squad at the half but couldn't get into the end zone as the Vikings fell to 1-3.
La Jolla quarterback Bobby Schuman hit on three of eight passes for 102 yards, finding Eric Petrofsky for 28 yards, Vincent Cheng for 38 and Justin Cook for 36. Kenneth Martey led the Vikings' rushing game with 55 yards on eight carries.
Quarterback Joe Kennedy had three short scoring runs and added a TD pass for the Saints, who remain unbeaten at 4-0. The 34 points were the fewest St. Augustine has scored in a game this season.
