Visit 'Harry Potter's World' at UCSD

A special traveling exhibit on Harry Potter and the Renaissance is on display at UC San Diego's library.

Harry Potter is mashing up with the Renaissance, so grab your wizard or tall toad hats and whiz over UC San Diego (UCSD).

A traveling exhibit has made its way to UCSD’s Geisel Library and it combines Renaissance influences with everyone’s favorite wizard, Harry Potter. is making only its second appearance in California at the school’s library through June.

The exhibit, which includes materials from the National Library of Medicine’s collections, features six illustrated banners describing the practices, including alchemy, herbology, astrology and natural philosophy, depicted in the magical world of wizardry created by J.K. Rowling.

During Harry Potter’s World time at the Geisel Library, there will be various events on magic, the Renaissance era and mathematics. to see the various lectures and the scheduling of them all. Guest speakers at the events, which are all free and open to the public, include the dean of Arts & Humanities at UC San Diego, a professor of pathology at the UC San Diego School of Medicine and more.

Ready to see the parallels between the Renaissance and Harry Potter? Muggles can visit this exhibit now at UCSD, but you only have until June 16 before someone waves a wand and says "Evanesco" to it.
