UC San Diego welcomed a new professor this semester. Former Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher is now a part-time “professor of practice” in UC San Diego’s Department of Political Science/Division of Social Sciences.
A spokeswoman for UCSD explained “professor of practice” is a category of appointment that includes teaching, research and service.
Fletcher is co-teaching a class on California government and politics with Thad Kousser of the political science department. Fletcher co-presented with Kousser for the first time on Thursday.
