Muirlands Middle School to Host Community Meeting on Replacing Principal

The San Diego Unified District will start its search for a new principal for the middle school in La Jolla.

Muirlands Middle School will host a meeting with San Diego Unified School District Area Superintendent Dr. Julie Martel on Tuesday, Dec. 3 to allow parents an opportunity to provide input into the selection process for a new principal.

Muirlands Middle School Principal Chris Hargrave announced Thursday that he will be stepping down. Hargrave, who has been with La Jolla's middle school for 10 years, will take a new position with San Diego Unified School District—a mentor role for administrators implementing the new Common Core Standards.

The meeting will be held in the Muirlands Middle School Library (1056 Nautilus St.) at 1 p.m., Dec. 3. If you are unable to attend, but would like to provide comment, please send suggestions to jmartel@sandi.net.

Hargrave will remain at his current post until a replacement is selected.
