Muirlands Middle School Dedicates Bench to Beloved Late Teacher

Earlier this month, Muirlands unveil a beautiful bench dedicated to Craig Goldman, a teacher who passed away in September.
 
The middle school said Jane Wheeler, a La Jolla artist, integrated quotes, sayings and expressions shared by students, parents and teachers about Goldman into the design of the bench.

"This bench will serve as a symbol and reminder of Craig's life work as a learner, teacher, mentor, colleague, and friend," the middle school said in a newsletter.

Goldman taught advanced seventh grade English and eighth grade English at Muirlands. Last year, he directed his students through a campus art project that brought together Wheeler and landscaper/artist Corky Kessler to create a labyrinth stenciled with words and phrases in response to "Muirlands is ..."
