Meet LJCDS Language Teacher Christine Huang

Meet La Jolla Country Day School's new Upper School Mandarin language teacher Christine Huang.

Christine Huang joins La Jolla Country Day School’s Upper School World Languages Department as an Upper School World Languages teacher, teaching Mandarin, under the direction of Rod Jemison, Upper School Director.

Prior to working with LJCDS, Christine worked at Cathedral School for Boys in San Francisco, California as a Chinese Instructor. Prior to this, Christine was the founding faculty of the Mandarin program at Dalton School in New York. She has taught at several international companies and Universities including Christian Dior, AT&T, Regent Hotel, American Express, the University of New York and Baruch College. She has also worked as Consecutive Interpreter and Voice-over. Her clients include SEC, CBS and New York State Court.

Christine received her Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language and a certificate in International Marketing from New York University. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Western Language and Literature from Providence University in Taiwan.

In her spare time, Christine enjoys yoga, boating, international travel and dancing the Argentina Tango; she has performed in several ballroom dancing competitions in the United States and has brought home a few awards in the past. Currently she is studying wine marketing at the University of California in Davis and WSET Intermediate Certification Course in wines.
