Meet LJCDS Language Teacher Bouteina Hassani

Meet La Jolla Country Day School's new Upper School Arabic and French language teacher Bouteina Hassani.

Bouteina Hassani joins La Jolla Country Day School’s Upper School World Languages Department as an Upper School World Languages teacher, teaching Arabic and French, under the direction of Rod Jemison, Upper School Director.

Bouteina taught both languages as an independent contractor for United Stated Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) for eight years in Coronado base, Imperial base, Camp Pendleton, Language World USA and online through Special Operations Forces TeleTraining System (SOFTS).

She also worked recently as an afterschool French program teacher for Del Mar Heights and Ashley Falls Schools in San Diego. 

Before working as a contractor for the military, Bouteina was an Internal Auditor for ExxonMobil over Africa, Europe and part of the Middle East. She then joined Shell Energy North America as a Senior Power Analyst and later as a credit risk analyst for RBS/Sempra Energy solutions.

Bouteina received her bachelor’s degree in Finance from HEM- Hautes Etudes de Management-Business School in Casablanca, Morocco.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking, working out, cooking new and old dishes with friends and is passionate about salsa dancing, traveling and adventure. She also volunteers at the Directors Forum.
