Meet LJCD Science Teacher Marsha Poh

Meet La Jolla Country Day School's new Middle School science teacher Marsha Poh.

 Marsha Poh joins La Jolla Country Day School as a Middle School Science Teacher, under the direction of Brian Murphy, Director of the Middle School.

Prior to working with LJCDS, Marsha taught Physical Science, AP Biology, and Environmental Science at St. Johns Country Day School in Florida. Marsha worked as an advisor to eighth grade students and served as a member of the technology team.

Before working at St. Johns Country Day School, Marsha taught Computer Technology to sixth grade students at Barbara C. Jordan Intermediate School in Texas. She began her career as an apprentice teacher at Shady Hill School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is currently a member of the National Science Teachers Association and participates frequently in web seminars on various topics in science.

Marsha received her Masters of Education with a specialization in Middle School Math and Science from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Concentration in Biological Psychology from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. While at Holy Cross, Marsha earned the Programmer of the Year award as a Head Resident Assistant, served as Director of Tutoring at Plumley Village, and pitched on the softball team for the Division I Crusaders.

She is married to Tristan Poh, and they have two boxers, Moose and Peach. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring Southern California, baking sweet treats, exercising, volunteering in the community, and taking her dogs on walks.
