LJES Collects Food Donations for Hand Up Youth Food Pantry

Non-perishable, non-expired food donations will be collected now until Nov. 16 at La Jolla Elementary School to benefit Hand Up Youth Food Pantry.

La Jolla Elementary School's Service Learning Program will be collecting donation items for its Food Drive for Hand Up Youth Food Pantry now through Nov. 16. 

The food drive will be collecting non-perishable, non-expired food donations for Hand Up. Hand Up is a program run by teenage volunteer that distributes food to the elderly, families in need, military families and refugees throughout San Diego County. 

Accepted Items Include:

  • Canned beans/chili
  • Canned fruits/fruit cups
  • Canned soup
  • Canned tuna
  • Canned vegetables
  • Cereal bars
  • Crackers
  • Dry pasta
  • Family size cereal boxes
  • Individual servings of milk (not requiring refrigeration)
  • Juice boxes
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Pasta sauce
  • Protein bars
