LJCDS's Kelsey Plum Named to SD Hall of Champions Athletes of Month

La Jolla Country Day School's Kelsey Plum and UCSD's Daisy Feder were two of 13 pro, amateur and high school athletes honored by the San Diego Hall of Champions for December 2012.

The San Diego Hall of Champions recognized two local female basketball athletes. The Hall of Champions named La Jolla Country Day School's Kelsey Plum and UCSD's Daisy Feder as Stars of the Month for December 2012. The duo joins 11 other local pro, amateur and high school athletes on the list.

Plum, a senior point guard, lead her team to a 32-1 record last year. The Torreys won the state championship game, where Plum scored 32 points. She also made the Second Team MaxPrep All-American team last year as a junior.

In addition, Camille Gaito of the UC San Diego's softball team was one of 15 professional and amateur athletes to be honored as the San Diego Hall of Champion's Stars of the Year. The group of six professional and nine amateur athletes was release Monday morning.

These athletes will be honored at the 67th Annual Salute to the Champions on Feb. 25 at the Town and Country Convention Center in San Diego.
