La Jolla High School Names New Principal

Chuck Podhorsky was named principal of La Jolla High School.

After nearly six-months of searching, the San Diego Unified School District named a new principal for La Jolla High School. Superintendent Cindy Marten named Hoover High School's top administrator—Chuck Podhorsky—to the post last week.

The U-T San Diego reported that Podhorsky is well-regarded for his work at Hoover High in City Heights. He will replace Dana Shelburne, who was reassigned as a district campus construction liaison in July after allegations of mismanaging school funds, however district officials have "said the job transfer had nothing to do with the audit."

A start date was unclear as of Monday afternoon.
