La Jolla Country Day Football Coach Resigns, Hit 100th Win Earlier in Season

Jeff Hutzler will remain LJCDS' athletic director overseeing all sports.

After 12 years as La Jolla Country Day School's football coach, Jeff Hutzler resigned with a 101-37 record.

The U-T San Diego reported that Hutzler, who announced his resignation on Tuesday, intends to remain the school's athletic director. The newspaper said Hutzler citing a growing workload with the athletic director position.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my 12 years as football coach and am proud of the program that we have built but feel that our young men, football program and school community will be better served by an athletic director that can lend his full support to a football coach spending 100% of his efforts on football,” Hutzler told the U-T.
