Not only does art come in many shapes and sizes, so do artists.
Bishop’s School here in La Jolla has a special exhibit over at the Athenaeum. Art students from the school, who are in grades 6-12, have submitted their work and you can view it for free.
The exhibit, which is named Exploring Expression and is available for viewing in the Rotunda Gallery, features work in a variety of media, like photographic arts, ceramic, stained glass, drawing and painting. Techniques like printmaking, sculpture and video can be seen throughout the different works of art.
Want to see artistic expression and individuality through the eyes of young and upcoming artists? Visit the Athenaeum tomorrow from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for the opening reception of the exhibit. Exploring Expression will run during Athenaeum hours from Feb. 18 through March 1, so make time to go over there and see the unique work of Bishop’s School students.
The Athenaeum is open from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Wednesday hours are 10 a.m.-8:30 p.m. The Athenaeum is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
