Sprouting with Sarah Nee

Sprouts are a “live food” and one of the most alkalizing, nutritious and easily accessible foods known to man – rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins and enzymes – and can be grown easily in 4-6 days with little effort or cost.  Learn how to bring your produce alive with sprouting from La Jolla’s own sprouting aficionada Sarah Nee, whose fresh, healthy cuisine is one of the highlights of the La Jolla Farmer’s Market.  In this hands-on class, students will learn the basics of sprouting and then learn to prepare a fresh menu of healthy vegan dishes made with sprouts, including sprouted sunflower dip, sprout “sushi,” avocado sprout tacos, raw sprout soup and even a sweet coconut cream sprouted almond pie.
