Family Science Night
La Jolla Elementary School's family science night will be held on April 13 at the school's auditorium, lunch arbor and surrounding classrooms.
Activities will relate to:
- parts of a wave
- frequency of sound waves & pitch
- creation of sound & controlling pitch with musical instruments
- sound traveling through air, water & solids
- animal detection of sound
- electronic detection of sound
- devices that enhance or amplify sound
- ultrasound

Students and parents will walk from station to station conducting scientific experiments with a common theme.
This event is free to attend and there will be food and drinks for sale to benefit the 5th grade promotion fund.
