Distinguished Speaker Series: Walter Munk

Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego scientist , often referred to as the world's "greatest living oceanographer," will be the first speaker of the 2012 Distinguished Speaker Series at the Riford Center.

Munk is the winner of numerous awards and is recognized "for his pioneering and fundamental contributions to our understanding of ocean circulation, tides and waves, and their role in the Earth's dynamics."
