Dalai Lama Tickets Go On Sale Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Tickets go on sale for the Dalai Lama's April trip to UC San Diego, San Diego State and University of San Diego on Feb. 22.

No need to get in line a day early. Tickets for the Dalai Lama's visit to three area universities, including UC San Diego in La Jolla, go on sale online at 10 a.m., Wednesday. Tickets can be purchased dalailamasandiego.org/tickets.php.

The Dalai Lama will visit San Diego April 18 and 19 as part of a two-day symposium at UC San DiegoSan Diego State and the University of San Diego.

According to organizers, the symposium will "provide a thought-provoking forum to inspire new discoveries and expand our understanding of humanity." The Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet, is said to share his views on upholding ethics, practicing forgiveness and tolerance, and coping with the challenges found in today’s society.

While he has visited more than 60 countries, this is reportedly the Dalai Lama's first visit to San Diego. 

The Dalai Lama will discuss "The Global Impact of Climate Change: Balance Through Universal Responsibility, Compassion and Human Consciousness" at UC San Diego, "Upholding Universal Ethics and Compassion in Challenging Times" at San Diego State, and "Cultivating Peace and Justice" at University of San Diego.

Tickets are $10 for current UCSD, SDSU and USD students with valid ID. Limit one ticket per student. General public tickets are $25 with a limit of two tickets per person.
