Back to School at UCSD

The fall quarter started Thursday for 29,000 students at UC San Diego in La Jolla.

The fall quarter at UC San Diego started Thursday. A total of 3,400 incoming freshman and 2,750 transfer students were new to campus.

“It’s exciting to welcome these bright minds to UC San Diego’s community of scholars and global citizens,” said Chancellor Marye Anne Fox, in an announcement.

Lines at the campus bookstore were long and the student centers were full of new faces and returning students catching up.

New this school year are the opening of The Village, an on-campus housing complex with 805 beds, and apartments at John Muir and Revelle colleges.
