5K Run/Walk Raises $200,000 For UCSD Scholarships
The 16th annual Chancellor's Challenge 5K Run/Walk for Scholars, led by UC San Diego Chancellor Marye Anne Fox, was held on campus Friday.
More than 1,300 students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members participated in a run and walk in La Jolla on Friday afternoon to raise funds for scholarships. The annual Chancellor’s Challenge 5K on UC San Diego's campus has raised $2.7 million in scholarship money since forming in 1996, and has helped more than 850 students. This year it raised nearly $200,000.
Graduate student Tim Tucey won the race with a time of 16:31.
