What's that Sound? Weekend Artillery Training May Be Heard up to 50 Miles Away

The training will take place between 6 a.m. Saturday until noon Sunday.

Artillery training on Camp Pendleton may be heard this weekend as far away as La Jolla, downtown San Diego,Murrieta and parts of Orange County.

Artillery units will be conducting live-fire training into the Zulu and Whiskey impact areas from 6 a.m. Saturday until noon Sunday, the base reported in a release.

Depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away.
