U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor will be coming to San Diego. Sotomayor, the first Hispanic and third woman appointed to the Supreme Court, will discuss and sign her book My Beloved World on Jan. 27 at University of San Diego’s Shiley Theatre. Warwick’s of La Jolla and USD are hosting the event.
Unfortunately, the event is sold out. But, Warwick’s said it may have signed copies after the event. Please contact Warwick’s Book Department, if you would like to be placed on its signed copies list.
In My Beloved World, Sotomayor discussed her life from the projects to the federal bench.
Publisher Knopf Doubleday Publishing said My Beloved World is a coming-of-age memoir: “Sotomayor will write about growing up in the South Bronx; her relationship with her mother and the loss of her father when she was nine years old; her inspiration as a young girl to become a lawyer; her journey to Princeton University (on a full scholarship) and later to Yale Law School; and finally, to a life in the law, culminating with her appointment to the federal bench.”
The book will be released Jan. 15.
