Speaker John Boehner Speaks at Bilbray Fundraiser in PB
Brian Bilbray hosted a fundraiser at the private residence in Pacific Beach on Thursday afternoon. Speaker John Boehner was the special guest.
House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) was in San Diego Thursday afternoon. Boehner, who was met by a handful of protesters, was a speaker at the fundraiser for Congressman Brian Bilbray. Bilbray is running in District 52, which includes La Jolla, Coronado and Poway.
Fundraisers would not disclose the identity of the hosts of the fundraiser and anticipated approximately 100 guests.
Patch spoke with more than a half dozen attendees and each one said they did not know the cost of tickets to the fundraiser, nor did a representative from Bilbray’s office.

Boehner arrived at approximately 5:30 p.m. and pulled into the garage of the house. He entered the private fundraiser through the garage and did not address the crowd of protesters.
Police were also on hand at the event. Police instructed a handful of protesters to move away from the house at the event.

The fundraiser was attended by a handful of notable San Diegans including County Supervisor Bill Horn and City Councilman Kevin Faulconer.
