The San Diego County Registrar of Voters completed its count of absentee and provisional ballots from the June 5 primary election on Friday, confirming narrow victories in a few races.
In the city of San Diego's City Council District 7 election, Scott Sherman won the seat outright by only 52 votes, out of around 31,000 ballots counted, good for 50.17 percent.
Sherman is one of two allies of Councilman Carl DeMaio to win outright. The other, Mark Kersey, faced no opposition.
DeMaio's victory over Rep. Bob Filner, D-San Diego, in the mayoral primary election also ended up being tighter than previously thought after the initial count. It wound up being less than a 1 percentage point margin between the pair, who will face-off in November.
DeMaio won with 31.43 percent of the vote, while Filner had 30.47 percent.
In the 52nd District Congressional primary, Port Commissioner Scott Peters edged out ex-Assemblywoman Lori Saldana by 719 votes for the right to face incumbent Rep. Brian Bilbray, R-Solana Beach, in November.
In their tight race for Superior Court Judge, constitutional lawyer Gary George Kreep edged Deputy District Attorney Garland Peed, 50.2 percent to 49.8 percent.
