Political Mailer Mixup

The Lincoln Club of San Diego's mail house accidentally sent out its endorsement of Ray Ellis for San Diego City Council District 1 to District 7, and its endorsement of Scott Sherman for District 7 to District 1.

A total of six political mailers went out to tens of thousands of the wrong voters last week, according to the U-T San Diego.

The local paper reported on May 22 that a mail house hired by The Lincoln Club of San Diego County accidentally mailed out City Council District 1 pieces to District 7, which includes the neighborhood of San Carlos, College Area and Tierrasanta; and mailed City Council District 7 mailers to District 1, which includes La Jolla, University City, Torrey Pines and Carmel Valley. The Lincoln Club endorsed candidates Ray Ellis and Scott Sherman.

Tony Manolatos, a spokesman for the Lincoln Club, told the U-T that a clerk at the mail house inadvertently sent the mailers to the wrong districts. He added that the mailers would be resent to the correct districts this week.
