Qualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs Backs Fletcher for Mayor

Fletcher began working for Qualcomm after he lost in the last mayoral election.

The CEO of mobile technology giant Qualcomm has endorsed Nathan Fletcher for mayor in the upcoming special election, the San Diego Business Journal reported Monday.

“There is no political leader in our state who better understands the needs of the innovation economy than Nathan,” Jacobs said in a campaign letter according to the weekly business newspaper.

Fletcher took a job in November with Qualcomm as its senior director of corporate development. Jacobs and his father, company founder Irwin Jacobs, backed Fletcher in the last mayoral election.
