"I consider Governor Dukakis one of America's greatest public servants, as being Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 12 years and candidate for President of the United States in 1988 would suggest; and Kitty, the Governor's wife, no less an extraordinary person (and also a former City Club speaker)," said George Mitrovich, president of City Club in an annoncement.

Dukakis is a Harvard Law School graduate and U.S. Army veteran. He served four terms with Massachusetts House of Representatives and as governor of the state for two terms started in 1974 and 1982. Four years later he ran for president as the Democratic nominee against George H. W. Bush.
